Maker Hub "Achievements Unlocked"When we first launched the Maker Hub, we created a badging system to try to encourage students to make various items. This gamification model included a bulletin board in the physical Maker Hub space to feature achievement tracking cards.
However, in practice, we found that this system was cumbersome to keep up with the pace and interests of students. So, we have transformed the bulletin board into a gallery featuring photos of what students have made. We are also archiving these photos digitally in the slideshow embedded here. Enjoy creations that students have allowed us to share! And, if you are a student who creates something in the Maker Hub, we would love to add your creation to our "achievements unlocked" board! |

The Making of the Maker HubThe making of the WHHS Maker Hub has been a maker project of its own and is ongoing.
Check out some of our students who have helped along the way, from cleaning and decorating of the room to organizing and setting up materials. The Maker Hub is truly a WHHS community project! Of note, even the Maker Hub signage was created by a West Hills student! The student Justin designed the letters, sawed them out of wood (except for the @ symbol, which he 3D printed), and installed them. |
